A blocker seals the gap so nothing falls into it. It is a solid or foam-filled bolster with no opening, and its success condition is simple: after fitting, a dropped phone lands on the bolster instead of under the seat. Drop Stop is the benchmark here.
Storing
An organizer puts a pocket in the gap. It blocks as a side effect and its real job is giving you somewhere reachable to keep cards, coins, a key fob. The leather catchers and console side boxes on this site are all this shape.

Go and measure your gap now, with a ruler, at the widest point. If it is over 1.2" this product will sag into it, and no amount of "universal" in a listing changes that.
A single-pack is a deliberate choice: the driver's side gap is the one that swallows things. The passenger side rarely earns a second unit, and this one is reversible so you can choose which side it goes on.
The listing states it sits in front of the seat belt receiver without blocking seat movement, the belt or the cup holders. That is the detail to check against your own car, because a console-mounted belt buckle is exactly where 11.82" of gap filler wants to be.

Two units is the right default if your car has a console gap on both sides, which most do — the passenger one collects everything a passenger drops.
It publishes the same gap range as the single-pack Owntow, so the decision between them is quantity, not fitment. Measure once, at the widest point, and check it against 1.2" before you order either.
What it does not publish is its own size. The Owntow does, so if clearance around your seat belt buckle is tight, that is the one you can check on paper. The velvet lining is the detail worth noting beyond that: it is what stops keys and coins rattling in a hard-sided pocket over a rough surface.

There are two jobs here and they conflict: blocking the gap, and storing things in it. A catcher does the first well; a deep box does the second.
The spacers are the reason this one is here rather than any of the dozen identical-looking catchers. A fixed-width caddy either fits your gap or rattles in it; four shims let you pad it out to the width you actually have.
It still publishes no gap range, and the listing itself tells you to measure first. On this page the two products that do publish a range are the ones to check against a ruler.

The question that decides it
What annoyed you enough to search for this? If the honest answer is that your phone went down the side of the seat again, you want a blocker, and adding a pocket to that job makes it worse rather than better — a pocket is an opening, and openings are what things fall into.
If the honest answer is that there is nowhere to put your parking card, you want an organizer, and Drop Stop will frustrate you within a week because it gives you nothing.
Where gap width breaks the tie
Measure your gap at its widest point with the seat where you actually drive. This is the sixty seconds that resolves most of the argument.
- Under about 1.2 inches — both work. The three products in this category that publish a range all cover exactly this band, and a blocker obviously fits too. Choose on job, not on fit.
- 1.2 to 2 inches — the blocker starts pulling ahead. A tapered catcher drops in at an angle here and leaves an opening at one end. A box that rests on the console shoulder still works if it is the right shape.
- Over 2 inches — buy the blocker. A compressible bolster expands into a wide gap; nothing that relies on friction between two far-apart surfaces does.
Price is not the differentiator people think it is
Drop Stop costs more than the generic leather catchers, and some of that is brand. But the products are not substitutes, so a straight price comparison is comparing a lock to a shelf. The useful question is whether the job you need doing is worth what that job costs — and if the gap has already eaten something expensive, it usually is.
