The short version
Cabin Command is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
If you click a buy link on this site and then buy something, we may receive a commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing extra. The price you pay is the same as it would be if you had gone to the retailer directly.
How the links work
Every product link on this site goes through an on-site redirect at /go/, which looks up that product’s destination in a single configuration file and sends you to the retailer. That is why hovering a buy button shows a cabincommand.com address rather than a retailer one.
It is done that way for a practical reason rather than a secretive one: it means every buy link on the site is defined in one place, so a product that moves to a different retailer is a one-line change instead of an edit to dozens of pages. Every one of those links carries rel="sponsored nofollow", which is how search engines are told the link is commercial.
Our Amazon Associates tracking tag is cabincommand-20. Amazon is currently the only retailer we earn from.
What it does not change
- What we recommend. Picks are made on published specifications, and the method is written down in full on the how-we-pick page.
- What we say is wrong. Every product on this site carries a stated reason someone should skip it, and several pages actively recommend not buying something.
- The order. Nobody pays for a position, a badge or a mention.
- Whether a page has products on it at all. Several guides here deliberately carry no picks because nothing honestly fits the question.
What we do not accept
- Free products. We have never received one, and if that ever changes it will be disclosed on the page in question.
- Payment for placement, ranking, inclusion or a favorable mention.
- Sponsored posts of any kind.
- Guest posts with embedded commercial links.
That list is the reason the honesty figures on the homepage read zero. They are claims we refuse to make, not gaps.
Prices
Prices on this site are rendered from a live data layer and stamped with the date they were verified. If that layer has nothing fresh, the button says Check price on Amazon rather than showing a number. We never type a price into body copy, because a written price is out of date the week after it is written.
Prices and availability at the retailer can change after we check. The price shown at checkout is the one that applies.
What we are not
We are not a retailer. We do not sell, stock, ship, warrant or support any of the products described on this site, and we are not party to your purchase. Returns, warranty claims and support are between you and the retailer or the manufacturer.
We also do not test the products — see how we pick for exactly what we do instead.
