The sun visor is a flat panel at eye level that almost everybody uses for nothing. It is the right height and the right position for two specific things — sunglasses, and the documents you want when a police officer is at your window — and a small organizer puts both within reach without a glance downward.
The mistake is buying a big one.
Why small wins here
- A loaded visor hangs lower. Every pocket you fill drops the visor's bottom edge further into your field of view when it is down.
- It has to swing. A visor rotates to the side window on most cars, and a thick organizer fouls the A-pillar on the way.
- Most cars have a vanity mirror on one visor. A full-width organizer covers it entirely.
- The visor still has a job. It blocks the sun, and a heavy organizer makes people stop using it for that.

Leather or PU
The visor lives in direct sunlight, which is the worst environment for synthetic leather — PU stiffens and cracks over a few summers where real leather does not. If you park outside in a hot climate, that is the one place in this category worth spending more.
